Today's colon cancer therapy is highly effective, if the cancer gets detected within the first 3 phases. (s.graphic) But only a few patients make use of preventive medical checkups. Particularly concerns about a coloscopy make people avoiding the life saving examination. Therefore colon cancer is usually detected in phase 4 when patients already suffer from symptoms and the chance of healing and recovery is reduced substantially. Over 27.000 fatal casualties each year make this type of cancer to one of the most lethal ones.

The total number of tobacco consumers in the industrialised countries is decreasing for years, beyond doubt a success of countless smoking cessation campaigns. Despite of that, the WHO forecasts the smoking related number of death cases to rise to a peak of 8 Mio. per year in 2030 [1]. According to world health report, 12% of vascular diseases, 38% of chronic-respiratory diseases and 66% of respiratory system cancer is caused by tobacco consumption [2].
